On Sunday, a 40-year-old brain dead woman슬롯사이트™s cadaveric organ donation saved a life of a 24-year-old boy who was suffering from cirrhosis of liver and congestive heart disease. Two of her organs 슬롯사이트� heart and liver 슬롯사이트� were transplanted into the Silvassa resident who underwent a 14 hour long single surgery. The recipient had registered himself for transplant in August last year and he was on a wait list at Fortis Hospital, Mulund.

Three more lives were saved from the deceased woman슬롯사이트™s organs in different transplant surgeries that took place in Mumbai and Chennai. After the woman had suffered a brain stroke at her residence in Mulund, she was shifted to Fortis Hospital where the doctors declared her brain dead. The woman슬롯사이트™s family donated her heart, lungs, kidneys and liver. The lungs were sent to Apollo Hospital, Chennai for a waitlisted patient. One of the kidneys was sent at INS Ashwini, Colaba and the second was dispatched to Jaslok Hospital. The deceased woman슬롯사이트™s family was counselled for organ donation. With support from Zonal Transplant Coordination Committee (ZTCC) and the family슬롯사이트™s permission, the heart and liver were allotted to the 24-year-old boy.

The boy had to discontinue his studies due to increasing discomfort and worsened condition each day. A team of surgeons, including Dr Anvay Mulay, head of cardiac transplant, and Dr Rakesh Pai, senior consultant, hepato-pancreatic-biliary and transplant surgery, harvested the heart and liver from the deceased. A green corridor was created to transport the organs from the hospital to airport and other hospitals. The deceased woman슬롯사이트™s family슬롯사이트™s noble deed was able to save four lives.
