Mumbai, October 15: After Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL) claimed that it had transplanted many trees removed for the Metro line from Aarey Colony, reports surfaced that most the trees have died. According to a report published in 800 of the 1,800 trees were already dead. Many of the trees reportedly have also dried out, and only some trees had stems. Some activists also claimed that the trees that MMRCL is transplanting are the trees which were killed.
