New Delhi, April 10: The Supreme Court is slated to hear next week a clutch of petitions challenging the constitutional validity of the Waqf (Amendment) Act, 2025. As per the cause list published on the website of the apex court, a bench of Chief Justice of India (CJI) Sanjeev Khanna and comprising Justices Sanjay Kumar and K.V. Viswanathan will take up the matter for hearing on April 16.

Several petitions have been filed before the top court challenging the constitutional validity of the recent amendments introduced in the Waqf Act, 1995. Several others, including the Association for Protection of Civil Rights, AAP leader Amanatullah Khan, Maulana Arshad Madani of Jamiat Ulema-i-Hind, All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB), Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), Indian Union Muslim League, Taiyyab Khan Salmani and Anjum Kadari, have filed the petitions challenging the constitutional validity of the Waqf (Amendment) Act, 2025.
