Not many know that veteran actress Neena Gupta bagged this film after she put out a post on Instagram about lack of work in the industry. The talented actress had nailed the part and stands out in the trailer of the film. But did you know that before Neena Gupta this role was offered to Tabu. Apparently Tabu even insisted that the makers cast Irrfan Khan opposite her in the movie.

Neena Gupta in an interview revealed how she did not even read the script before giving this movie her nod. Badhaai Ho, directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma is slated to release on October 19. The film revolves around an elderly couple who become parents at an awkward age. The part of Neena Gupta husband, which was offered to Irrfan is being played by Gajraj Rao.
