If you read the news, or are on any social media, you should be at least mildly aware of the situations unfolding across the nation. Students of Jamia Millia Islamia University had to face the wrath of the Delhi police after, protests against the Citizenship Ammendment Act, allegedly, turned violent. Bollywood has a tendency to awfully be quiet over the matters as such. But today, many actors and filmmakers and other artists took to their social media to voice their opinion. Many outright condemned how the police has reacted to the situation. Many have asked for peaceful protests.
Earlier, usual vocals like Swara Bhasker and Konkona Sen Sharma had opened up about the matter at hand on Twitter. Now joining them are Anurag Kashyap, Rajkummar Rao, Ayushmann Khurrana, Jim Sarbh amongst others.
Rajkummar Rao was one of the first to tweet
I strongly condemn the violence that the police have shown in dealing with the students. In a democracy the citizens have the right to peacefully protest.I also condemn any kind of act of destruction of the public properties. Violence is not the solution for anything!
